someone you trust. Consider making an electronic copy you can store in your
email account as well.
Carry your passport on you at all times and don’t keep all
your cash in one place. In Paris, my friend saw an Indian tourist lose his
wallet and passport to a pickpocket. Keep your passport in a safe place –
ideally in a pouch inside a secure bag and leave behind some cash in your
suitcase so that in case you’re robbed, you don’t lose everything.

experiences of people from other countries and cultures. I met a lot of
interesting people but I didn’t exchange contact details with any.
7. Travel light, but
not too light either.
I’m an extremely light traveller and this time I realised
that I was short of clothes. Do carry the essentials but leave space for the
knickknacks you pick up. Avoid heavy jackets if you are going in summer and
don’t carry too many snacks – enjoy the local cuisine instead.

than the roaming charges you’ll get if you don’t.
